40 Reasons to vote “No” on the Columbia River Crossing

In its 2014 session, the Oregon Legislature will be asked to commit the state of Oregon to the multi-billion dollar Columbia River Crossing project. Over the next 40 days, I’ll be posting 40 reasons why Oregon legislators should vote “no” on this risky and ill-advised project.

#1: Why should we spend $3 billion (and likely much more) for a 12-lane, 5 mile freeway that will, according to the project’s own estimates, carry fewer vehicles 25 years from now than the existing bridges carry today.
